How to find dropshipping suppliers in the Netherlands and Europe

Why entrepreneurs are moving away from China

Dropshipping is a well-known revenue model that has changed a lot over the years. For a long time, many sellers sourced their products from Chinese platforms such as AliExpress and Alibaba.

Since 1 July 2021, you pay VAT from the first euro on parcels from outside the EU. That makes margins far less favourable than they used to be. On top of that, delivery times are long, contact with suppliers is often difficult and products are not always tested for the European market.

For all these reasons, more and more online entrepreneurs are looking for reliable European dropshipping suppliers instead. But how do you find them? We explain it in this blog.

Two types of European suppliers

In general there are two forms of European dropshipping suppliers.

• Dropship-ready suppliers. These are set up completely for dropshipping and you can often get started very quickly. Examples are vidaXL, BigBuy and Van der Meer. They offer a wide selection, a strong digital infrastructure and services that make dropshipping easy. The downside is that they serve many business clients, so you may face more competition.
• Brands looking for resellers. Many European companies and brands do not actively promote dropshipping but are happy to work with shops that resell their products. Examples are Boomba Bamboo, Eend met een T and Private Label Diffuser. The upside is less competition and unique branded products to sell. The downside is that the range is often smaller.

Find a supplier inside GOGETTERS

Find a supplier through Google

Plenty of people simply search "dropshipping suppliers" online, and you will certainly turn up some good wholesalers that way. But what if you are after a wholesaler in a specific niche, because you have done your research?

In that case, type the product category you are looking for into Google and add "wholesale", "dropshipping" or "become a reseller" after it. For example, search for "inflatable pool wholesale". Chances are you will find suppliers who sell those products to businesses.

Search the product category, then add "wholesale" or "become a reseller" to surface wholesale suppliers.
